Website accessibility compliance for the EAA and ADA
We test your site against WCAG 2.1 Level AA, fix what fails, and keep checking it every month, so people with disabilities can use it and you are ready if anyone asks.
What you get
The European Accessibility Act has applied across all 27 EU countries since 28 June 2025. It covers businesses that sell to consumers in the EU, including online stores and booking sites based in the US, the UK or anywhere else. Each country enforces it, and the technical standard it points to is WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
In the United States, website accessibility claims under the Americans with Disabilities Act are filed in their thousands every year, and WCAG 2.1 AA is the standard courts and settlements usually refer to. One piece of work covers both markets.
We start with an audit: automated scans plus hands-on testing with a keyboard and screen readers, because tools alone catch only part of the problem. You get a plain-English report with every issue in priority order. Then we fix them on your platform, write your accessibility statement, and check new pages every month so the site stays that way.
We hold our own site to the same standard: every page of petronixtechnology.com passes automated WCAG 2.1 AA checks.
What it covers
- Automated scans of every page template
- Keyboard and screen reader testing (NVDA and VoiceOver)
- Colour contrast, headings, forms, images and focus order
- A prioritised report in plain English
- Fixes on WordPress, Elementor, Shopify, Wix and Squarespace
- An accessibility statement and feedback route
- Monthly monitoring and a short report
A good fit when
- You sell to customers in the EU
- Online stores, booking sites and digital services that EU consumers can buy from.
- You serve US customers
- Reduce the risk of an ADA demand letter by fixing the issues it would cite.
- You are about to redesign
- Build accessibility in from the start instead of paying to fix it afterwards.
Questions people ask
Does the European Accessibility Act apply to my business?
It applies to businesses that sell certain products and services to consumers in the EU, including e-commerce, banking, e-books and transport booking, wherever the business is based. Very small service businesses (under 10 staff and under €2 million turnover) are exempt. If you are unsure, we can look at your site and what you sell and tell you whether it is likely to apply. This is not legal advice.
Will an accessibility plugin or overlay make me compliant?
No. Overlay widgets change how a page looks but do not fix the underlying code, and businesses using them have still received ADA claims. We fix the site itself.
What standard do you test against?
WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the standard the EAA relies on through the European standard EN 301 549 and the one most ADA settlements refer to. We also note WCAG 2.2 items where they are easy wins.
How long does it take?
An audit of a typical small business site takes three to five working days. Fixes depend on what we find; most sites are done within two to four weeks.
Can you guarantee I will never receive a complaint?
No one honestly can. What we can do is fix the issues a complaint would cite, keep a dated record of the work, and keep the site checked every month.
